Parameters
Parameter Settings are accessed from Options then Parameters.
See the description below for each tab:
| Global |
Affecting the whole database, settings remain until the user changes them and will affect vehicles included in new updates.
|
| Manufacturer |
Affecting only the selected manufacturer range, settings remain until the user changes them and settings will apply to new updates for that manufacturer. |
| Vehicle |
Affecting only vehicles in the display list retrieved through the Filter vehicles process. This might be one vehicle or the whole list depending on how you apply the change. These settings will only apply to vehicles you have selected and applied changes to, new vehicles (updates) of the same type will use default settings until the user resets them. You will notice each component has both a ‘Life’ and a ‘Spread’. As default all spreads except for the Cam Belt are set at zero, see below for an explanation of how the ‘Spread’ facility works. |
| Options & Extras |
Not used in the passenger car version, see additional the LCV supplement to the user guide. |
| Tyres |
Allows the user to set tyre values, values apply to any vehicle using that tyre size. |
| State |
Allows users to set country / territory for applicable vehicle test requirements. |
| Manufacturers Package |
Allows users to budget for service packages. Only vehicles that have service packages available can be amended. The package term is amendable in the lower panel. For applicable vehicles it allows the user to select which elements to include as part of the Free or Package allowance according to the manufacturers terms. These settings will only apply to vehicles selected and altered by the user. Updates will need setting as appropriate. Vehicles that have Free packages will not allow the user to enter a Package Price. Vehicles that are on a package term allow the user to enter a value for this and the value is displayed in the upper screen when looking at the service drilldown. Menu pricing can be selected for appropriate vehicles on this tab, if for example a Ford is selected the user will be given the option to select Menu for all appropriate categories. If all Fords are selected using the filter tool when one vehicle is set to use menu pricing you will be given the option to apply the settings to all the selected vehicles thus changing large groups of vehicles very quickly. Maintbook defaults always include all costs; it is the users’ prerogative to select any price reductions that may be offered. |
