Industry First for motorconsult with Maintbook HGV

Maintbook HGV is the latest product to come from motorconsult, the industry leaders in the supply of forecast service, maintenance and repair data.

The new HGV product will take Maintbook in to a completely new market for both leasing companies and HGV operators. Recognising the complexity of the new product, motorconsult has worked closely with four development partners with wide-ranging HGV experience; LloydsTSB autolease, BT Fleet, Carillion and Hitachi.

"Of course, the HGV product has to be far more flexible than that for cars and LCVs," said motorconsult HGV specialist, John Gibson. "We need to properly cover the multitude of choices on engine, axle and gearbox specifications as well as many more types of use and wear than the standard period and mileage criteria used for cars."

"The new product is web based with the advantage that much of the data compilation will become automated, data accuracy will be more precise and we will be able to free up our data team for analysis, rather then repetitive data work," said motorconsult Chairman, Alan Croft.

"Initially we will be taking the product out to the leasing industry," he added, "But we also see a wider application with hauliers, coach operators and other specialist HGV users."
